Caroline Gough-Cooper - Regional Safety Officer North Midlands

Caroline got hooked on flying at the age of 19 when she started training for her PPL(A).  Having gained her licence she abandoned plans for a career in medicine and set about qualifying as a commercial pilot instead. She has flown a variety of turboprops during her career, including the Handley Page Herald, F27, Lockheed L188 Electra and Dash 8 series, but no jets, electing to go down the training route rather than go for a jet job.

In GA Caroline has instructed to PPL(A) level and for the IMC Rating but her real passion is helicopters. Seven weeks after gaining her PPL(H) in 1994 she was offered a trip to Moscow in an R22 where she took part in her first World Championships. Seven World Championships and two gold medals later she has finally hung up her competition hat – maybe!
