UK Wide Harmonised TA Proposal

The CAA has launched a consultation on a UK wide harmonised Transitional Altitude of 18,000 ft. (TA is the altitude at which you should change from QNH to the standard pressure setting of 1013 or vice versa if descending.) Responses are required by 24 Feb 16. Many GA pilots would be relieved to see the end of the standard setting within their usual airspace (and this one would be happy to see the end of QFE as well).
