Vortex Upset on Video

In September 2012 a Robin DR 400 conducted flight tours in the context of a local airfield event. The flights were operated from a grass runway. When the DR 400 took off behind an An-2, the DR 400 experienced a strong rolling motion of about 90 deg at a low altitude and crashed to the ground in the vicinity of the airfield.

The accident has been investigated by the German accident investigation authority and this video presents detailed explanations of the vortices involved. It is in German but the gist is very clear in any case:  www.bfu-web.de
