Weather Forecast for December

Outlook for Thursday 3 Dec 2015:

Mostly dry, bright and cold in the northwest. A band of rain remains slow-moving across central UK during the day, before eventually moving southeastwards overnight. Still mild in the southeast.

Outlook for Friday 4 Dec 2015 to Sunday 6 Dec 2015:

Often dry and bright on Friday before further rain and gales in the far northwest sweep southeastwards overnight and during Saturday. Staying generally changeable and windy on Sunday.

Outlook for Sunday 6 Dec 2015 to Tuesday 15 Dec 2015:

It is likely to remain unsettled with further areas of low pressure crossing the country, bringing showers or longer outbreaks of rain, heaviest in the northwest. Snowfall expected at times, for the northern hills and perhaps also to lower levels here at times. Brief settled periods are also expected however, with lighter winds, some sunshine and overnight frosts and fog, as high pressure builds temporarily between areas of low pressure. These settled spells may become persistent for a time towards the middle of the month, especially over southern parts of the UK. Temperatures are likely to be variable from day to day; mild with passages of wet and windy weather and cold under clear overnight skies in settled spells or during snowfall.
