Land Ahead if Safe to do so

The BGA has published a Safety Briefing with regard to Safe Winch Launching which has equal value in relation to engine failure after take off in a powered aircraft. The Briefing addresses the possibility of confusing attitude (nose well down) with airspeed and AOA. Given time the airspeed will build to correspond with the attitude but the pilot must wait for this to happen. In the interim an attempted turn could prove disastrous.
