Gliding Sites Incorrectly Charted as Disused Airfields

The Southern England half million chart which came out in March 2017 is incorrect in that seven gliding or hang gliding sites are wrongly charted as disused airfields. They are:

METFIELD HANG-GLIDING SITE (522151N 0012330E)
SALTBY GLIDING SITE (524947N 0004245W)
UPOTTERY HANG-GLIDING SITE (505305N 0030921W)
WETHERSFIELD GLIDING SITE (515824N 0003036E)
ASTON DOWN GLIDING SITE (514228N 0020750W)
BURN GLIDING SITE (534445N 0010504W)
DRIFFIELD HANG-GLIDING SITE (535942N 0002857W)

The Northern England and Northern Ireland chart, which came out on 30 March 2017, has two similar wrongly charted sites:

BURN (534445N 0010504W)
DRIFFIELD (hang gliding) 535942N 002857W

See UK AIP ENR 5.5  (Aerial Sporting and Recreational Activities) for site details.

There is a potential for inadvertent penetration of these active sites and if you use a paper chart it could be advisable to amend your chart accordingly. The electronic charts supplied to companies such as Sky Demon and Runway HD are being amended and NOTAMs warn of these errors.
