No Fatalities in December Bulletin
The December 2017 Air Accident Investigation Branch monthly bulletin contains no reports of any fatalities, which makes a good start to the new year. Amongst fixed wing there are 5 landing accidents, one take off, one forced landing in which no one was hurt, one loss of electrics, one lost canopy and one tumbling weight shift microlight. The last could have turned out worse if the microlight had not ended up in a large agricultural bale.
A gyrocopter turned on its side on take off after the rotors struck the ground, a landing accident of a commercial hot air balloon led to minor injuries and an unmanned aircraft collided with a crane.
