The day comprises presentations on ditching and sea survival covering preparation for flight over water, risk assessment, passenger safety briefings and practical tips together with demonstrations and instruction in the use of GA lifesaving equipment. The theoretical training is reinforced by practical sessions in a purpose built diver training lake and a separate practical session using an underwater escape trainer.
The Andark Lake provides an excellent and setting for the practical exercise with a degree of realism not available in swimming pools
When alighting on water in an emergency, the aim is to keep the aircraft upright but this is not always possible and so it’s important to understand how to get yourself and your passengers out of a submerged aircraft. The underwater escape training provided during this seminar will provide the skills and experience necessary to cope as well as adding confidence and knowledge to passenger briefings before flight.
If you haven’t attended a GASCo Ditching and Sea Survival Seminar or similar training in recent memory and you are contemplating flight over water, then this seminar’s for you. Andark is making its facilities available to GASCo at a very generous discount indeed.
